Dr Bing Liu, an examination right hand teacher at the University of Pittsburgh's Medical Center's Computational and Systems Biology Department, has been shot dead inside the home he imparted to his significant other in Pittsburgh.
The very much regarded multi year old specialist was distant from everyone else at his home in the 200 square of Elm Court in Ross Township on Saturday evening when another man known as Hao Gu - supposedly entered the home through an opened entryway and started shooting striking him in the head, neck and middle with shots.
His significant other was not home at the hour of the crime, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette announced.
Pittsburgh Police said Gu at that point came back to his vehicle left 100 yards away at Charlemagne Circle and shot himself.
As indicated by Pittsburgh police, Liu and his supposed executioner Gu knew each other before the homicide self destruction, however the idea of their relationship is obscure.
Dr Ivet Bahar, leader of the Computational and Systems Biology Department, told the Post-Gazette that Liu had as of late started inquiring about COVID-19.
He joined UPMC six years back and went on to co-writer a book and in excess of 30 productions.
An announcement has been discharged by his manager, UPMC's Computational and Systems Biology Department, reporting his inopportune passing .
'Bing was nearly making extremely critical discoveries toward understanding the cell systems that underlie SARS-CoV-2 [COVID-19] contamination and the cell premise of the accompanying intricacies,' the announcement read. 'We will put forth an attempt to finish what he began with an end goal to give recognition to his logical greatness.'
"Dr. Bing Liu was an exceptional specialist, who has earned the regard and valuation for some associates in the field, and made interesting commitments to science,' the announcement said.
